The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission on Legislation for the New Zealand Police Vetting Service. 

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission to the Government and Administration Committee to support the establishment of a fund to cover disability-related costs and improve the participation of people with a disability in the electoral processs.  

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment nominating a change to the Registered Nurse (Aged Care) category on the immediate skills shortages list which allows temporary visas for internationally qualified nurses with three years experience in aged care. NZNO submitted that shortages were due to lack of workforce planning, poorer wages and conditions, and that it is important to retain IQN. The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission to the Ministry for the Environment on proposals for a Zero Carbon Bill. NZNO, along with other health sector colleagues, advocated for an ambitious target of net zero emissions across all greenhouse gases by 2040.
 

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) contributed to, and endorses,  the shadow report on the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children (UNCROC) written by the  Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa coalition. ACYA is a coalition of NGOs and is the UNCROC country focal point.  

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa  made a submission to he Ministry of Social Development on their consultation on Options to Strengthen Independent Oversight of Children's Issues and Oranga Tamariki System, largely concerning the functions of the office of the Children's Commissioer

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa  (NZNO) made a submission to the Education and Workforce Committee opposing the Health and Safety (Volunteer Associations) Amendment Bill.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa  (NZNO) made a brief submission to the Commerce Commission on the application from the Infant Nutrition council seeking authorisation for an arrangement allowing the INC to restrict its members from marketing formula products for children aged up to 12 months.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Toputanga Tapuhi Kitiaki o Aotearoa made a joint submisson with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, the Public Service Organisation and E Tū on the Privacy Bill. The Bill repeals and replaces the Privacy Act 1993, as recommended by the Law Commission's 2011 review of the Act. Its key purpose is to promote people's confidence that their personal information is secure and will be treated properly.

Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa, NZNO contributed to the Aotearoa New Zealand collective shadow report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) to the United Nations Human Rights Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.  This report highlighted current issues of pay parity for Māori nurses and Māori health workforce retention and recruitment issues.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) welcomes the opportunity to comment to the Justice Committee on the End of Life Choice Bill.  NZNO has consulted its members and staff in the preparation of this submission, in particular members of Womens Health, Neonatal Nurses College, Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa and professional nursing and policy advisers.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation provided feedback to PHARMAC on various proposals regarding access to Montelukast tablets; single use instruments and VTE Prevention Products; Sustagen Hospital Formula list price increase; and listing orthopaedic implants and associated products.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation provided further feedback on the Medical Sciences Council's consultation document : Examination Policy and Guidelines - a plan to introudce an online examination for the registration of overseas-trained practitioners, including anaesthetic technicians. 

Fruther feedback was provided on the proposed expansion of the AT scope of practice.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a submission to the Government and Administration Committee on the Births, Death, Marriages and Relationships Bill

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a written and oral submission, to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee on the Brokering (Weapons and Other Items) Control Bill.

NZNO supported an application to PHARMAC to fund menstrual management products in schools, as a low risk, cost effective primary health care strategy to address poor health and edcuational outcomes for girls who cannot afford them, and to encourage healthy attitudes to and management of menstruation.
