8 Anaesthetic Technician (AT) Scope of Practice Review Consultation Read here: A Review of the Anaesthetic Technician Scope of Practice The Medical Sciences Council (MSC) is undertaking a public consultation on a proposal to redefine the parameters of the Anaesthetic Technician (AT) scope of practice. The Council proposes to widen the AT scope of practice from a two year diploma course to a three year degree for Perioperative Practitioners. Note that the AT scope fits within the RN scope of practice, and that this potentially duplicates the RN role of Surgical First Assistant.
