It seems that someone has been listening to NZNO and others, because the Ministry of Justice has released a discussion document calling for “A common approach to understanding Family Violence Risk Assessment and Management”. The Ministry points out that although many organisations working in family violence have their own risk assessment and management methods, there is no national policy, or process. By introducing a common approach it hoped to achieve a level of consistency and best practice to better support family violence victims.
The consultation document is available here: Family violence risk framework
The consultation period is extremely short.
