More information
In this webinar, Dr Bronwen McNoe and Gemma Bevan will share insights from a nationally representative survey of New Zealanders, exploring what people know, believe, and do when it comes to sun protection and UV exposure. It highlights public attitudes, behaviours, and gaps in understanding, and outlines what needs to change to better protect our communities under the sun.
The session will also touch on how these insights informed the development of a new Gen Z skin cancer prevention campaign, recognising that persistently high skin cancer rates in Aotearoa New Zealand point a gap between knowledge and behaviour that traditional approaches are no longer closing.
Who should attend? This webinar is particularly relevant for those working in skin cancer prevention, early detection and treatment, public health advocacy and health promotion, policy and research, outdoor industries, education and sport and recreation.
Dr Bronwen McNoe is a Senior Research Fellow at University of Otago | Te Rōpū Rangahau ō Te Kāhui Matepukupuku – the Cancer Society Research Collaboration. Her research focuses on skin cancer prevention.
Gemma Bevan is Head of Marketing and Communications at the Cancer Society of New Zealand.
The webinar will be chaired by Amanda Dodd, Advocacy and Public Affairs Lead, Cancer Society New Zealand.
We look forward to welcoming you to the webinar.
